Doing Business in the Maghreb - A Forum on Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia
26/03/2010

The Middle East Association, in partnership with UK Trade & Investment, is delighted to be organising ‘Doing Business in the Maghreb – A forum on Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia’ on Friday 26 March 2010 at the UK Department for Business Innovation & Skills Conference Centre. This follows on the highly successful Maghreb Business Briefing held last year.

The conference will be a unique opportunity to listen to senior representatives from Government and Industry discussing trade and investment opportunities for UK businesses in North Africa, as well as offering an insight into how to establish successful trading relationships and businesses in the region.

The morning conference will include an opening plenary session and three panel sessions all led by regional and UK experts.  The three respective Ambassadors have been invited to give keynote addresses. The panels will be followed by a lunch reception to enable networking and further discussions. Among the issues panellists will address are:

  • Case Studies from British companies successfully doing business in the region
  • Commercial Opportunities for British companies in the Maghreb
  • Overcoming the challenges faced by current investors
  • Project Finance and Renewable Energy
  • Education & Training

The conference will provide an excellent opportunity to learn more about these three countries of the Maghreb and to identify the key investment opportunities in the region.  Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia all hold British products and services in high regards and are keen to strengthen links with non-traditional partners. These three countries are all actively seeking partnerships with British companies and businesses, and now is the time to develop trade links.

The MEA has held conferences and led missions on all of the Maghreb countries and this briefing session will be an excellent follow-up to these events. The MEA has just taken out a very successful trade mission to Algeria and will be leading an Education and Skills mission to Morocco from 23-27 May 2010 and a multi-sector mission to Tunisia in June 2010.
