'Engaging with Iraqi Kurdistan' - Business Briefing
10/03/2010
The MEA is pleased to announce that, in co-operation with the Kurdistan Regional Government, it will hold a Briefing on opportunities for British business and engaging with the Kurdistan Region in Iraq.
The MEA will take a trade mission to Erbil and Duhok 18 – 23 April and the Briefing is carefully timed to introduce the Kurdistan market to potential mission participants and to encourage British companies to consider the very promising business prospects there.
Kurdistan Region is a haven of peace and security and a gateway to the rest of Iraq. Our competitors from the EU, Turkey, Iran and elsewhere are there, benefiting from and contributing to an increasingly expanding economy. The UK presence is barely visible.
Ms Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, High Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government in the UK, will be the principal Speaker at the briefing and will lead discussions. We will circulate the names of other British and Kurdish Speakers shortly. There will also be a case study of a British company now working successfully in Kurdistan Region.
